Long time ago since commented but I gotta reply. It seems fair to me because those other deaths are not of your doing but circumstantial. Let me illustrate. Say you're caught by the trolley problem. It's a philosophical problem where one comes up to a switch that directs the track from the death of one person you know dearly and the death of multiple people you have no regard. Which would you choose? The end of the movie series "The matrix" is such a problem. Save your love or save the world. Nobody gives you option C, which is to walk away not make a choice at all. That means you're hands are not dirty because the events that may happen in the future are circumstantial, mean you don't take fault from direct actions. This makes sense because people are affected everyday that are beyond your control and many not involving you that are in your control. There is no time in the world to deal with all of them so does that mean you're at fault for ones you didn't intentionally intervene?
