'Follow the Dao from infancy ' I'm not exactly here for the pet store, but I'm interested in the above story by the same author. Can anyone give me a heads-up on the story developments? I ask this because I found conflicting ratings for this on two other sites

The manhua and the novel diverges significantly from each other. If you have read the manhua and are here to continue I HIGHLY recommend you read from the start. There are certain plot lines that are significantly different from the manhua. Do keep in mind, both adaptations are exceptional. I highly recommend you read both of them as they are a similar enough to enjoy both yet different enough to be a breath of fresh air. Now the actual plot for the NOVEL... I have to say that some things are very quickly forgotten and there are fillers. HOWEVER, Naruto was pretty much 80% filler and it was enjoyable. This is the same. The filler is alright but not the best. You will 100% enjoy reading this novel if you enjoy : face slapping, cultivation(kind of. It is more akin to a power system), OP mc and pets (obviously. It is much better than most pet novels imo. Like pokemon with cultivation basically). Admin ban soon cuz I said there are pets without spoiler tag.
for those planning on reading this: just don't all of the characters are bland or arrogant, and leave much to be desired, while the MC is a borderline psychopath who'll kill people not related to his problems. The MC also "for some reason" (and I say this sarcastically, hence the quotes) does not kill any female character who offends him, and captures them instead, which is why this book has the Sl*v* H*r*m tag I guess. I haven't reached a high enough chapter to say he does anything with them but I wouldn't doubt it if he does. finally, this book seems to lack a main goal/purpose. the MC just gets stronger to get stronger and beats stronger guys who dislike him for no reason: like what's the point? overall it's a terrible read and not worth it: don't listen to some of those other people who seem to like this book
Please spoil me a bit. Does this novel have the story point where the MC establishes something like a round table (works similarly to LOTM's convention)? I read some pet store novel long ago, just not sure if this is the one.

What a journey it has been... I personally liked this novel and enjoyed it. Not the best but good enough to be on my list to read again. 8.5/10
I have fully completed this novel and I can say with confidence that it is an amazing story, there will be times when you get frustrated with it and it can be hard to read but trust me once you get past all that then you will be instantly attached to all the main characters and truly feel the twists and turns plus the ending is great and not like most. Give it a chance and you won't regret it.
