How the author layers out and develops Kang Taesan's Powers is skilful, and the tie-ins from his past to the present is a nice touch. His Compassion and Decisiveness is amazing. I expected this to purely be a power fantasy slop because I came from the manhwa, but there is a touch of complexity woven to the story. Full-Time Slayer, Part-Time Babysitter. My only gripe is that the translation is inconsistent, some terms get swapped with a synonymous one and throws me off sometimes. Anyway, if you have time to spare and particularly like stories with this flavor, then this is for you! - Caught up to Chapter 395

I've really got to let this stack chapters a bit. It's a good read but the slow update speed is painful

Taesan's conquering speed may be fast, but it pales in comparison with my pace reading this novel 😑

Strong Recommend. Pros: a refreshing different take (for me,) on the OP genre. Fast paced. biggest con: dialog can be a challenge to determine who is speaking. with MC and 1 other, not an issue, but as soon as 1 more joins...everything is in brackets instead of using words to say who it is.

4/10. Unfortunately i've come here right after reading Surviving the game as Barbarian and the difference in quality is immense. If at first author tried to make dungeon dwelling interesting then by chapter 100+ he just says that MC cleared the floor easily and provides a list of acquired equipment. Mc receives power-ups so often that they loose any significance. At least there is no romance. I can recommend it only if you have nothing else to read or if you are immune to the cheap wish-fulfilment. Personally I thought myself to be resistant to poison but it got so bad past chapter 130+ that i need to take a long break.

For people on the fence about reading it, i recommend it pretty strongly, it does nothing exceptional, but also nothing “bad” which makes for no plotholes which is overall a nice read. Yes, the mc is strong, but not in such an extreme way which makes it unenjoyable to read. its fast paced, but not in an annoying way. Although the side characters don’t really have any substantial depth, they aren’t “flat” by any means (plus we’re getting a few backstories here and there in the current chapters). Rating: 7,5~8/10

I have read to the end, and unable to satisfy my curiosity, I read the the raws to the end. I have gotta say, its one of the best novels I have ever read. what can I say, it faithfully adheres to its genre, but it has a perfect plot. one without any plot holes. the power scaling, world construction, enemies etc are all also perfect. Like, you will feel it is natural and without any drawback. The only drawback I found in the end is that there are not enough side stories, like, one in the future and some additional explanation of the past. But its inconsecutive to the main part of the story. Anyways, I 100% recommend this novel. ofc, it could get repetitive, but u gotta try this, since its one of the top novels. it will never get boring. the story is alive and complete.

Don't be thrown off by how the stories written or how much [System prompts there are]. Contrary, is that when you get used to the novel, the skills and action feel really impactful. It makes sense because the skills he uses are absurdly strong. They are what allowed him to become a pillar of humanity with the weakest stats. The first chapters take place when he hasn't regressed. So you already know what his peak power was. The rest of the story is the journey of him gaining those skills that made him the strongest, now with absurd stats as well as new absurd skills he couldn't obtain. No romance or harem, give it a read 👍
