A boy with amnesia woke up in the middle of the Dregs, the worst part of Crimson Fungus City.
The boy grows up and manages to become strong enough to pass an exam for one of the most prestigious jobs in existence, a Zephyx Extractor, someone that can harvest the powers of Specters.
Sadly, he had already gained a power from a Specter in the past, which made him ineligible for the position.
But then, a mysterious man visits him.
And his luck finally turns around.

Alright here me out. Nick (as of so far) can: 1. Get stronger so long as no one see's him directly. 2. Turn into incorporeal mist. 3. Blast off light out of himself. Hmm interesting. Its almost as if he will be able to: 1. fly up into sky (where no one can see him. 2. Turn into a big ball of mist. 3. Blast off light in every direction, obscuring himself even more. Hmmm. sounds a lot like the sun. If only there was a convinent prophecy/propaganda story about a hero saving humanity and turning himself into the sun. All nick needs to do this now is: 1. get a heat ability 2. Get a flight ability 3. get strong enough to kill the sun and survive space. If you notice carefully nick is being set up by author to become a: 1. Tragic hero/martyr that no one understands and appreciates 2. Become a literal Star God. I mean if im right he will be able to turn into a star 3. potentially counter Shang. This is on the assumption that light has a correlation to life or energy, the opposite shang.
While reading this novel(Haven't caught up) I was thinking the entire time: They're all "character development" material? Always has been🔫🗿
